When I create stories and novels, I fell more alive. It’s some kind of magic: to create new worlds and characters that you’ve never met in real life, control their lives and one day suddenly discover that somebody else finds your creation fascinating.
However, it’s not all fun and games. There days when I cannot write a single line. Then, I need a powerful source of inspiration to push myself to work.
There are possible ways to avoid the state of creative stagnation:
- The most common advice to those who feel stuck while writing is to read classics or other books of the authors you think are creative and have a good style. It doesn’t work for me, because after reading something I’ll unconsciously put into my story, which is not a very appropriate thing to do.
- I would say that the best thing to do when your creative process is not going well is to forget about it and switch to something different. Anything will do. You can clean your house, go for a walk, listen to some music, or do something else, and after a while, the idea will get to you.
- Usually, I search the Internet trying to find some beautiful pictures, which would give me inspiration. So many talented artists work in various unique techniques and post their works online, so that anybody could see them.
There is one artist whose works I find to be amazingly creative and absolutely gorgeous. He’s name is Leonid Afremov. He’s a contemporary world-renown artist who was born in Vitebsk, Belarus. Now he resides in Mexico where enjoys living his live and sells his original works in the internet. He studied art at Vitebsk art school where he has developed his unique way to work with oils.
What I like most about his art is the fact the it’s kept away from politics. His painting are neutral, no matter what happens in the world, and their main purpose is to transmit to the viewer a certain emotional state. All of his works are extremely positive, that makes them attractive for the audience because we all need positive encouragement from time to time.
One of the best is his oil painting ‘Beautiful dance’ Here. A captured moment of a passionate dance made this beautiful artwork one of the most famous Afremov’s paintings. On the picture we can see a swirl of colors, which is formed into a woman’s figure. This artpiece has a magnificent energy, which always inspires me to create.
